Electronics Repair Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Performs electronic functions relating to the repair, modification, test or assembly of electronic systems, integrated circuits, prototype models and specialized test equipment.
  • Reads and uses sketches, diagrams, layout, specifications, plans, or verbal instructions to perform bench testing, circuit checkouts, troubleshooting, prototype building, production test functions and development engineering tasks.
  • Analyzes diagnostic or test data, operates test equipment to include, but is not limited to, scopes, meters, signal generators, data bus readers, and automated test equipment.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) in Electronics or equivalent technical certificate from two-year college or technical school, or related military training; or a minimum of four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Avionics systems experience required.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine correspondence.  English language proficiency in both written and verbal communications.

Math Ability:
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word software and experience using order processing systems and database software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
