World Airways Selects Universal Avionic's TAWS for MD-11 Fleet
 

Tucson, Arizona - Universal Avionics Systems Corporation (UASC) announced that their TAWS (Terrain Awareness Warning System) has been selected by World Airways for retrofit in its fleet of MD-11 aircraft.

World Airways, Inc. (NASDAQ: WLDA) is a U.S. certificated air carrier providing customized transportation services for major international passenger and cargo carriers, the United States military and international leisure tour operators. World Airways currently operates a fleet of MD-11 and DC-10 aircraft, and has announced plans to introduce B767-300ER aircraft. For more information, visit www.worldairways.com.

The MD-11 TAWS installation will consist of a single Universal Avionics TAWS and GPS Sensor on each aircraft. TAWS information will be shown on the MD-11’s existing EFIS displays.

Produced by Universal Avionics, Tucson, Arizona, USA, Universal Avionics TAWS offers some features and capabilities that are unique to this type of product, including three different views of video-quality TAWS displays.

Hollingsead International is providing Integration Engineering, Installation Kits and FAA Certification through its FAA Designated Alteration Station (DAS 606052NM).
