Tucson, Arizona - Universal Avionics Systems Corporation (UASC) announced that their TAWS (Terrain Awareness Warning System) has been selected by World Airways for retrofit in its fleet of MD-11 aircraft.

World Airways, Inc. (NASDAQ: WLDA) is a U.S. certificated air carrier providing customized transportation services for major international passenger and cargo carriers, the United States military and international leisure tour operators. The MD-11 TAWS installation will consist of a single Universal Avionics TAWS and GPS Sensor on each aircraft. TAWS information will be shown on the MD-11’s existing EFIS displays.
