Universal Avionics EFI-890R Receives FAA TSO Approval
 
 
Tucson, AZ – Universal Avionics Systems Corporation (UASC) received Technical Standard Order (TSO) C113 authorization from the Federal Aviation Administration for their EFI-890R display system on August 9, 2004. The EFI-890R display may be used in either a Primary Flight Display (PFD) or Navigation Display (ND) application. Universal Avionics Systems Corporation(UASC) Engineering Product Manager Paul Tew comments: “The involvement and cooperation of the FAA in the early stages of the EFI-890R product development is what made the certification process go smoothly. We were able to make product changes required by the FAA as the product evolved.” Paul Tew went on to say, “The EFI-890R with its advanced functionality is superior to anything on the market today or tomorrow.” The EFI-890R product development began in late 1999. It is marketed for forward and retrofit applications. The EFI-890R has an 8.9-inch diagonal display for Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Navigation Display (ND) applications and supports existing analog and digital aircraft systems. The EFI-890R has superior sunlight readability and is available in 2-, 3- and 4-Unit suites with a 3-year product warranty.
